Strange: Ex-Super Eagles Player, Sani Kaita,Declared Missing (Photo)

The management of FC Ifeanyi Ubah of
Nnewi has declared one of its players,
Sani Kaita, missing. The News Agency of
Nigeria (NAN) reports
that Kaita, an ex-
Super Eagles player, had joined the club
on a three-year deal in May. Coach John
Obu however disclosed the player’s
disappearance told on Monday in Awka.
He said the development was the reason
why he could not successfully execute
their match against the Shooting Stars of
Ibadan on Sunday because the player
was not around. Obu said the last time
he knew anything about Kaita was when
they went to Port Harcourt for the match
against Heartland of Owerri on July 1.
He threatened that the club would report
to the League Management Company (LMC) if the player failed to make himself
available. “What happened is, when we
travelled to Port Harcourt, we were to
leave immediately after the game and he
was not part of those of us who left and
up till now, we have not seen him. “But,
I don’t need to look for him, he needs to
tell me where he is. If he fails to tell me
where he is, then we will report to LMC
of his absconding.’’ Obu however
expressed satisfaction at his first win on
Sunday in charge of the club, and
promised that there would be
improvement after assessing the
contributions of the players. He said
every game would be tackled as a special
task. Kaita , a former Enyimba
International midfielder, has played for
Sparta Rotterdam (Holland), Monaco
(France), Olympiakos (Greece),
Lokomotiv Moscow, Kuban Krasnodar,
FC Alaniya, Tavriya (all in Russia) and
Metalist Khakiv (Ukraine).

2015 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs)The top 5 performers at theRoad to the MAMAs concert

Nigerian acts Iyanya, Lil Kesh, Yemi Alade,
Phyno, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Patoranking and Diamond from Tanzania performed at the event.

Yesterday at the Federal Palace Hotel in Ikoyi, the MTV Africa Music Awards held a party tagged 'Road to the MAMAs 2015'.
The party was attended by the biggest names the entertainment industry in Nigeria has to offer » .

At the core of the event was the best of music Nigeria and Africa has to offer.
Kicking off with a lively and engaging set from DJ Xclusive , the 'Road to the MAMAs 2015' served as a lovely forerunner of the award ceremony in Durban. Nigerian acts Iyanya, Lil Kesh, Yemi Alade, Phyno, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Patoranking and Diamond from Tanzania performed at the event.

1) Patoranking - Wha Ya Say! Patoranking had the best performance of the night. The Timaya protégé showed that he is now a lion in this game. The dancehall king in Nigeria performed all his hit tracks including the 2013 street anthem ' Emergency ', and the fan favourite

'Bora '. His new single 'My Woman, My
Everything' featuring Wande Coal wasn't left out. When the crowd thought Patoranking's fire hot set was over he brought the short black boy and new President of Chocolate City M.I to perform
'Enemies' off the rapper's last album ' The
Chairman'. It didn't get hotter than that.

2) Yemi Alade - It's just a matter of time for Yemi Alade to be the hottest female act in Africa. In Nigeria, no female act is better than her on stage right now. Last night, Yemi Alade was an energetic dominatrix who totally owned the stage and crowd. She had the best vocals of the night, choosing to perform live, and she was
in sync with her backup dancers. The hot female act didn't pause during her performance, it was a seamless flow of her hit tracks which climaxed with the insane runaway hit track 'Johnny '.

3) Phyno - The Igbo cowboy rode in majestic on the stage and kept spitting out his menacing rap singles which was a mix of his old and new cuts. Sporting a new 'David Beckham' inspired hairstyle gave a confident performance which the crowd absolutely loved. Towards the end of the
set Phyno invited rap starlet Lil Kesh to perform their lewd collabo ' Ladi' minus Olamide. The floor of the venue shook when the rattling bass lines of Phyno's songs took over. Obago!

4) Lil Kesh - If Olamide is the King of Yoruba rap then surely Lil Kesh is the crown prince. A year ago at this same event, the newbie rap act opened up Olamide's set with his then buzzing
street single/dance step inspired song 'Shoki'.
A year after it went on to be one of the biggest hits of 2014. Rightfully so the success of the song earned him a nod at this year's event. Kesh's performance was embraced by the crowd. He just performed two songs 'Shoki' remix and 'Gbese' but it was enough to get the whole place lit. His performance of his verse on Ladi during
Phyno's set showed that the streets have a new champion.

5) Reekado Banks/ Korede Bello - Even two out of seven Mavins is more than enough to have a good performance. That shows how many hit singles the acts on that label have. Fresh off their endorsement with GLO, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello ended the night performing their individual hits and rounding it with the crew's hit singles ' Adaobi ', and ' Looku Looku '. The songs are crowd favourites so it was not a surprise to see people dancing throughout their set.

In MexicoThese women seek rain byspilling blood

Every year, in the month of May, women from the Nahua villages of Guerrero, Mexico, get together to beat the living daylights out of each other.



All the blood they spill during the fight is
collected in buckets, and later used to plough and water their lands.

The villagers believe that this bizarre ritual will bring the rain and provide bountiful harvests! The festival, like many others in Mexico, combines catholic and prehispanic traditions. On the first day, women wake up early to make large quantities of food. They prepare turkey, chicken, rice, boiled eggs, pozole, mole, and tortillas, which they take along with them to the fighting
grounds. At the official site, they lay out the food and decorate the area with flowers and inflated turkey bellies. They recite prayers for the virgin Mary and for the local rain god Tlaloc, after which it is time for the fighting to begin.

The villagers stand in a circle, forming a ring of sorts, waiting for their adversaries to arrive from neighboring communities. The villages of La Esperanza and El Rancho Las Lomas, in particular, have a long standing rivalry – they fight in a field that lies on the border between the two towns. When everyone has arrived, the
women begin to seek out opponents, challenging them to fights. The older women, who are seasoned warriors, provoke younger girls to get into the ring and spill some blood.

Once the opponents are decided, the women get into the ring and face each other, tying up their hair and taking off their jewelry. One of them throws the first punch, the crowd begins to cheer, and pretty soon, a bloody fight is underway. The women don’t seem to care about winning, all they want is to spill and collect as much blood as possible. They might ask for a time out to clean up their bloodied noses, but they’ll get right on with the punching once they’re done. Men and children sometimes join in as well, and the fighting continues until dark, after which everyone hugs each other and heads back home.

Why are women doing all the fighting, and not
the men, you ask? According to VICE Magazine, the farmers are out tending to their lands, so this task is left to the women and children.

Professor David Delgado of Chapingo University, who has spent the 12 years studying harvest celebrations, believes the fighting ritual can be traced back to the Aztecs. “It is originally linked to the beginning of the corn harvest,” he explained. “The other important issues here are the symbols. The people here formed three communities and when one would linger into another’s turf, they would fight each other.

So they say that because of their quarrels, the god Tlaloc took the rain from them.”
“Two of the communities started a sort of
contest to see who could take the water back from Tlaloc,” he added. “He fled to the hills. So they went up and stole the water, but they started fighting for it once they came down. And so they say that the fights are held to this day since then. They say that every drop of blood is a drop of water, and hence the tradition stands.”
The annual Tigrada parade – celebrated in May in the major towns of Zitala, Chilapa, and Acatlan – features lots of other rituals, all centered around praying for rain. The men put on jaguar costumes and and beat each other with whips. They also organize dancing and other offerings, but the main purpose of these celebrations is to spill their blood and offer it in exchange for rain.

Man disappears over wife ’ s third setof twins

Where is Citizen Emeka Benjamin Uche , a
Lagos factory worker ?

That was the big question yesterday as his
wife , Ruth , 34, from Abia State broke the
news of his disappearance since February.
Uche , 39, fled home when he learnt that
his expectant wife was carrying a set of
twins – the family ’ s third.


Mrs Uche was at the Lagos State
Secretariat, Alausa yesterday with her six
children, pleading for help .

Not many knew what she wanted as she
stood under a tree , close to the Press
Centre , carrying the babies . Her first two
sets of twins, much older , stood close to
their mother , and did not in any way seem
intimidated by the sea of cameras and
faces focusing on them .

Mrs . Uche was receptive when our
reporter approached her to narrate her
ordeal .

In 2009 when she first conceived, she was
delivered of two girls – Goodness and
Godnews . The second conception, two
years later, produced another two – a boy
and a girl , named John and Joyce .

But when her husband, Emeka, learnt that
the third pregnancy was another set of two he fled their number 32, Awori Street ,
Agege home on the outskirt of Lagos to an
undisclosed location in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The third set of twins arrived last month .
They were named Daniel and Daniella .

Mrs . Uche said she could no longer cope
with widening needs for food, clothes,
drugs and school fees . Her meagre earnings as a teacher in a private school in Lagos can no longer meet their needs .

Her story : “I met my husband in 2002 but
we got married in 2008 . We met in the
village at Umuahia . I don’ t want to leave
the children and run away . This is why I
want government to help us , ” she said .
She recalled that she never wanted the
third pregnancy , but her use of traditional
means of family planning (counting fertile
and infertile days ) failed her .

“I was using traditional way of family
planning where I calculate some days
before having intercourse. It was working
for me . You can see my first set of twins
is four years old.

“You know as women, we cannot deny our
husband that thing whenever they request
for it. Whenever I mistakenly take in, he
would say that I was pretending.
Sometimes, I would go through long
process to abort the pregnancy . After that ,another one would happen. I would still
have to go through the process again to
abort it . When this one happened he still
insisted that I was pretending until the
pregnancy became obvious . ”
“My Church was responsible for the
payment of the first delivery . The church
paid N120 , 000 for the delivery of the first
set of twins. The two deliveries of the
twins have been through Caesarean
Section for which we paid N120 , 000 each .
The last twins are through normal
delivery ”. Mrs . Uche explained that her husband , a factory worker in Iju Road, Agege , has since refused to pick her calls . She learnt that he stays in Ikorodu.
“Since I gave birth to the children , I have
tried calling my husband but he would not
pick once he knows that it is me . I
contacted his mother and other relatives to tell them that he has run away . They
promised that they will call back . Since
then , none of them has called me. It is not
easy for me at all .

“I know only two of his relations . One of
them lives in Ikorodu ; the other one lives at Ajegunle. My elder brother, who could have also helped , is very angry with me for giving birth to another set of twins. He
warned me before not to have any other
child after the two sets of twins, especially
with the kind of husband I have .

“I cannot put my hands in blood shedding
by committing abortion . I want Nigerians
to help me because there is nobody to pay
their school fees .

“I went for immunisation some days ago
and I told them my condition and why they
have not been seeing me. It was there that
they advised that I should come to government. Government should please
help my children; no one to help me with
house rent, electricity bill , school fees , food and so on, ” Mrs . Uche said .

Kate Henshaw Loses Everything As Her House Is Gutted By Fire

According to reports, June 25, 2015, veteran Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw’s Lekki apartment was gutted by fire.New details have now stated what it has cost the actress.


Kate Henshaw was on location of ‘Do-Good’, TV series which is a revival of her and Basorge Tariah Jr. combination in the 90’s soap opera ‘Candle Light’ when she was called by her neighbors that her house was on fire.


Kate Henshaw quickly went home and called fire fighters, but it was too late. The twin duplex was burnt. According to witnesses at the scene, Kate Henshaw was said to have lost all the things she worked for in the house.
She is currently living in a temporary quarters and is yet to resume shooting.
