Governor Oshiomhole Receives Accolades From Archbishop

The Archbishop, Bendel Province of the Church of Nigerian (Anglican Communion), Rev. Friday Imaekhai has praised the Edo state Governor Adams Oshiomhole for his exceptional administrative qualities.

The Archbishop praised the Governor during the 1 st session of the Fifth Synod of Esan Diocese held in St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Eguare-Ekpoma, Edo state with the theme:
‘’Thy Will Be Done.’’ Imaekhai eulogized the governor for his response to the infrastructural development challenge in Edo, which led to the construction of roads and rehabilitation of schools and
colleges across the state.

The Archbishop showed appreciation for the support Governor Oshiomhole has given to the Diocese, requesting from God to shower him with sound health and increase wisdom to direct the affairs of the state. However, he begged the governor to authorize the return of colleges to their original owners.

He said: “We commend Governor Adams
Oshiomhole of Edo State for the construction of roads and rehabilitation of schools and colleges. We request that colleges owned by missions that were taken over by government be returned to
them.”

Reports just reaching us indicate that President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) board of directors.

This is also according to a letter signed by
Danladi Kifasi, head of the civil service of the federation.
In the letter, Buhari thanked members of the dissolved board for their services to Nigeria.

As it was reported earlier the restructuring ofPetroleum Corporation, may benefit manynortherners, a development that is already producing tension within and outside the NNPC.
Some experts have also supposes that it cancauses doom for the petroleum industry if thepolicies are implemented.

Hmm… I want to say something today, I don’t really want to talk about my relationship with my children’s
father. It is a thing of the past and I don’t really want to talk about it. Saidi and I are best friends, and it is going to be like that. Fine, he had an accident, and I was there all through, we were together. Let it just be like a natural and normal thing. We are friends and that is just it.

He said this at civic reception organised in his honour by the Bayelsa government on Friday, May 29 in Yenagoa.

Jonathan expressed gratitude for the reception, saying he is honoured to have been found worthy of public service.

"Having befitted so much from the rare privilege of serving, I shall dedicate the remaining part of my life to peace building in all parts of Nigeria.
"I will urge all to support the new administration to develop Nigeria and work with the state government to develop our own state," Jonathan said.
